Bali Visa Guide for British Travellers

Indonesia has not reinstated visa-free entry for UK passport holders, so British citizens need a visa on arrival or in advance (Permenkumham No. 22 of 2023; verify at imigrasi.go.id).

For tourism, family visits and limited non-work activities, there are two short-stay routes.

Prepare these carefully and entry is straightforward. Employment is never allowed on either visa.

A VOA or e-VOA extends once, for 30 days — 60 in total. It cannot be done online: you visit an immigration office such as Imigrasi Denpasar, usually three times (submission, biometrics, collection).

Start at least two weeks before your first 30 days end. Processing takes 7–14 working days and the fee is IDR 500,000.

Planning to stay beyond 60 days, attend business meetings (not employment), make social visits or volunteer? The B211A is a pre-arrival visa that needs an Indonesian sponsor.
